Sweet 98.5

Three-year-old children are known for having some strange ideas, but one girl has become a hit on social media for a weird request with a plan behind it. Casey Feigh shared the story of his niece’s third birthday party request on Twitter, complete with pictures of the result. According to the tweet, Feigh’s niece Leona asked for a birthday cake that showed the moment from the Disney movie The Lion King where Mufasa dies.

That’s a morbid kid, right? Why not Timon and Pumbaa, or something happier? According to the tweet, it was because Leona didn’t want to share. Feigh says she wanted that exact moment in cake form because “everyone will be too sad to eat the cake and it will be all for me.” Her mother, Alison Feigh, says she was too embarrassed to call and ask for the cake, so she sent an email instead.

“Hey, can you do a cake showing Mufasa dying?” would be one heck of a conversation starter for a bakery, but the Thirsty Whale Bakery jumped to help, offering different 3-D options. The result was a cake showing Simba looking down from the edge of the cliff with the body of his dead father below, right next to the words “Leona is 3!” written in icing. The girl was thrilled, social media is enjoying it, but it’s not clear if her devious plan worked, or if everyone got a piece of cake.
