Saturday was World Emoji Day, and to celebrate a preview of the new emojis that may be coming our way has been revealed, and they are more inclusive than ever before.

Unicode Consortium, the non-profit that oversees emoji standards and is responsible for new releases, will approve new emojis in September, but some of the new options reportedly include gender inclusive prince and princess emojis, 15 different handshake skin tone combinations, and even a pregnant man and pregnant person, reflecting transgender male and non-binary pregnancies.

Other new options include melting face, saluting face, a face holding back tears, a disco ball and a low battery symbol.

And that’s not the only big emoji news to come out this weekend. Apple announced upcoming updates to their Memoji, which gives users the ability to create a customized emoji of themselves using Face ID. Additions coming with iOS 15 include more than 40 new outfits, the option to choose two different eye colors, new headgear, glasses, and accessibility options like cochlear implants, oxygen tubes and more.
