It feels like every channel we turn on right now has bad, sad, heartbreaking, rage-inducing news: fires in the west, flooding in the south, the hurricane hitting NOLA, Afghanistan, flooding in the south… There’s a lot. And it is all heavy. The recent flooding in Tennessee has left 20 people dead, but it’s also inspired acts of kindness. An example of this is the unnamed donor who has stepped up to pay for the funerals for all 20 victims.According to William Brown, the manager of the Humphreys County Funeral Home, a man who wishes to remain anonymous came in and paid for all nine funerals they are arranging there. He says the man also went to other funeral homes in the area and covered the costs for the 11 other flood victims’ funerals there.

Donations have also poured in to a GoFundMe page set up to cover the costs of the funerals for seven-month-old twins who were swept away in the rushing waters.

Like Mr. Rogers said, “look for the helpers.”
