A New Zealand woman called animal control Saturday night, who referred her to the police. That’s understandable since the woman says she was in a hostage situation. The unidentified woman reported that she was “being held hostage by a possum” after it ran up her leg while she was unloading her car, and said that the animal kept charging at the glass in her window every time she looked out to see if it was gone. When an officer arrived at her house, the possum ran up the officer’s leg; the cop used a flare to stun the possum, put it in a box, and then drove it away to be relocated.
