Houseplants bring more to your life and well-being than you probably realize. In our modern, technology-driven world, it’s all too easy to get cut off from our natural roots. If you live in a high-rise apartment building or other urban setting, at times houseplants are the only thing keeping you connected with the natural world.

But it’s more than mental health – plants offer our bodies something, too. They have beneficial qualities, including purifying the air and eliminating toxins from the environment.

If you’re wondering how to celebrate National Houseplant Appreciation Day, consider adding some plants to your own home decor or gifting them to those you love. Like what? Like these:

  • Pothos Plant – This beautiful plant is lush, richly green and grows freely and beautifully in an ornate, vines. It’s also easy to care for and looks beautiful all year round. The best part? It’s hard to kill. It’s actually a low maintenance plant and for those who lack a green thumb, it can grow for many years to come with a minimal amount of care. Find out more HERE.
  • Umbrella Plant – Also known as Schefflera Arboricola, the Umbrella Plant got its name from its pretty arching leaves and branches. It’s beautiful and relatively easy to care for, which again, means it’s a good choice for those with a not-so-green thumb. Keep it watered, give it some light – and this plant can last for many years. Find out more HERE.
  • Peace Lily – Want a little flower action? Peace Lilies are widely regarded for their ease of care as well as their ability to cleanse the air of toxins and contaminants. Plus, Peace Lilies are brilliant green in color with shiny, resilient leaves and bright white blooms. Find out more HERE.
  • ONE MORE THING! If succulents are more your thing, that’s cool, too. Find out which ones are best for indoors HERE.
