New Jersey is opening the state to recreational marijuana sales beginning…tomorrow. Yeah, 4/21. And no, it’s not a joke or mistake.
April 20th, the unofficial stoner holiday, is cherished by pot smokers around the world; major rallies are held across the country, and as the spokeswoman for the Cannabis Regulatory Commission for the state puts it, “Selecting 4/20 for opening day would have presented unmanageable logistical challenges for patients and other buyers, surrounding communities, and for municipalities.”
The reaction on socials was amusing. Some said the state is trolling users, another said, “Weed being legal to buy recreationally in NJ on 4/21 has to be one of the most savage jokes i’ve ever seen.”
Starting tomorrow, adult recreational marijuana users 21 and older can purchase up to an ounce per sale at local dispensaries without a medical card.
