Taylor Swift was a big winner at Sunday night’s VMA Awards.
Her video for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor’s Version)” earned her another Video of the Year trophy (her third) which means she officially broke the record for the most VMAs for Video of the Year. So, that’s a great night.
But are we, The Swifties, really the winners here?
I mean, we got to see her rocking the red lip reminiscent of The Old Taylor albums, the stunning crystal dress (bathtub full of gems Easter Egg? We know nothing she does is unintentional.), and then…
THEN, during an acceptance speech, BAM! She hits us with an album announcement. Because of course she did. And it’s a new album. Like, new new. Not Taylor’s Version new. (Would love that, too, obvi.)

“I thought it might be a fun moment to tell you that my brand new album comes out October 21,” she shared while accepting Video of the year. “And I will tell you more at midnight.”
The 13 track album is called “Midnights.” 13 tracks. Of course.
“This is a collection of music written in the middle of the night, a journey through terrors and sweet dreams,” Taylor shares, adding, “Midnights, the stories of 13 sleepless nights scattered throughout my life, will be out October 21. Meet me at midnight.”
Did I scream? Yes.
Did I cry? Not yet. Check back on October 21.
