“Just keep paddling.” – Duane, probably.
For his 60th birthday, Duane Hansen hopped in an 846-pound pumpkin on the banks of the Missouri River Saturday and paddled 38 miles downstream to break the record for “longest journey by pumpkin boat.”
Duane launched Berta (his wife named the pumpkin boat after the “Two and a Half Men” character) in Bellevue before arriving in Nebraska City around 11 hours later. Duane knocked the original record out of the…well, you know.
They say if you stay in your job long enough you might see just about everything and this morning was one of those days!…

The original record was set by a North Dakota man who journeyed just over 25 miles by pumpkin in 2016.
I have a list of questions for Duane, but I’ll only ask one: was pie served at the end?
