The world’s most popular dating app is helping users get fast feedback on their love life with a new feature that may make some families and friends preeeeetty happy.
Tinder Matchmaker has arrived. Now, your mom or Aunt Julie, The Queen of Romance Questioning, who asks about your love life every Thanksgiving – can weigh in on your potential partners.
The idea is that it can help you find out if a potential match passes the “friend test” …and if they’ll get your parents’ stamp of approval.
Here’s how it works:
Users receive a unique matchmaking link which can be sent to 15 of the most trusted (opinionated? harshest critics?) friends and family.
They’ll have 24 hours to “recommend” matches to you…all through the app, which avoids the not-embarassing-at-all situation of your mom talking you up to the cute waiter at Old Chicago before you get there.
The invitees do NOT have to have Tinder accounts themselves and they aren’t able to do anything on your behalf, like messaging potential dates or “liking” the profile of someone holding up a four pound catfish. Phew.
