Last month we trashed or returned our jars of Jif after a recall was issued due to a possible salmonella contamination which caused more than a dozen people in a dozen states to get sick. Now the recall has now been extended to other products made with Jif. Here’s a list:
- Taharka Brothers Peanut Butter Cup Ice Cream
- Walmart and Fudgeamentals Fudge
- Del Monte brand cut fruit and vegetable products
- Ready-to-eat Super Asian Chicken Salad (distributed to an Amazon Go location in Washington)

Keep in mind that most people recover from salmonellosis with no problems, but 450 people in the U.S. die from it every year.
Symptoms include diarrhea, fever, chills, and abdominal pain – and bottom line? If you think you’ve got it, call your doctor…better safe than sorry!
