Sweet 98.5

A day after Netflix reported losing nearly 1 million subscribers in its second quarter,
— the biggest subscriber loss in the streaming giant’s 25-year history (it is less than half the 2-million subscriber loss they prepared for back in April) – Netflix is planning to add a cheaper, ad-supported option for subscribers – but it won’t include everything.
Co-CEO Ted Sarandos says the “vast majority” of its content will be available on the cheaper tier – but “certainly not all of it.”
Netflix is teaming with Microsoft to develop the ad-supported service, but has not yet revealed how much it will cost.  It’s expected to launch sometime next year.

They’ve also announced they’ll be trying a new feature that allows users to “add a home” to their account.
The feature will allow you to share your password with another home for a fee of $2.99.
The feature will launch in five Latin American countries next month.
No word on when the feature will become active in the U.S.
