Here’s the email Jake sent us asking if four months of Christmas is too much:
Nikki and Spicoli,
I came home from a fishing trip to see that my wife has already fully decorated our house for Christmas. She thought it would be a nice surprise. Look, I love Christmas, but you can have too much of a good thing. I love cake, but I’m not sure I want it for every meal. This is almost four months of Christmas. I’m just worried that by the time Christmas does get here that we will all be burnt out on it. My kids were pumped, but they’re not really old enough to understand how long 4-months is. I’m afraid my wife is going to warp their Christmas memories and how special that one night and morning was when I was a kid. My wife could see I was lacking in enthusiasm and got upset. Now she is offering to take it all down. I don’t want her to have to do that, but I am kinda bummed to be celebrating Christmas for a third of the year. Should I be looking at this differently? Is four months of Christmas awesome or awful?
