Nebraska never trailed and started the game on a 7-0 run. The strong start grew to 12-4 after a Sandfort three-pointer. The Warriors cut the NU lead to two twice, 12-10 and 18-16, but a 12-0 Huskers run opened the lead to 30-16 with seven minutes to go until halftime. A 14-5 run by Nebraska over the final six minutes grew the lead to 44-26 at halftime.

Midland drew no closer than 16 in the second half, and a 13-0 run by the Huskers capped by a Frager three-pointer opened the lead to 59-30 with 14:46 remaining, and Nebraska controlled play from there.
