During Women’s History Month, we honor women in history, support the women in our lives, and empower future generations of women leaders.

Below, you will find more information about events happening in and around Omaha, a list of women owned businesses, and more.

The Women of Sweet 98.5, Power 106.9 and 101.9 The Keg

Alyssa

“Women’s History Month is one of the many times I get to show gratitude to those who paved the way for me to live the life I do today. I feel incredibly fortunate to have the voice I do on Power 106.9 and Sweet 98.5.”

Meg

“Being  a woman in broadcasting is so much fun, but also comes with its challenges. To say I am grateful to those who came before me and busted down walls to break some molds is an understatement.

Just like the Spice Girls say, ‘Girl Power,’ and stuff!”

Nikki

“I’ll forever remember hearing my boss say, ‘Women don’t like listening to women.’ I’d just been hired for my very first radio job.

Was it advice? A weird warning?  I didn’t know how to take that, but it felt gross. Instead of asking what he meant, I nodded and ‘yeah, okayed,’ and moved on because that’s what good, agreeable girls do.

The thought of it still gives me the ick, but YOU proved him wrong. Some of the realest, rawest, most unbelievable conversations I’ve had in my life have come from women calling and texting 402-962-9898.

Thank you for proving, every single day, just how wrong he was. I’m grateful to be in the company of smart and strong, creative and wickedly funny women.

Happy Women’s History Month!”
